Is it the same as sharing something?<\/em><\/p>\n<cite>@sogolbkhairy74<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-doubling-up\"><strong>Doubling up<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Lindsay and Michelle focus on discussing the phrase \u2018double up.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This phrase can be used in casual conversations or even in the business setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lindsay and Michelle go through some contexts in which it is used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-double-down-and-more\"><strong>Double down and more<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many ways you can use the phrases \u2018double up\u2019 and \u2018double down.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lindsay and Michelle go through each definition and some examples so you can better understand these expressions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To double up means to do things twice as much or just more in general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Michelle, we need to double up on recording for this week so we don\u2019t have to worry about recording on vacation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I think it would be good to double up on the amount of copies we print. We want to have extras.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Would it be okay if we double up on coverage of the phones for this week? It\u2019s getting super busy here.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Another definition of \u2018double up\u2019 is to be in small groups or share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Okay, we don\u2019t have enough pamphlets for everyone, so you might have to double up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I know we all want to have a work laptop for home, but we just have to double up for now until the shipment comes in.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-double-check\"><strong>Double check<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We say &#8216;double check&#8217; when we need to confirm something or check it a second time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will hear someone say they need to double or triple check something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Can you double check that the door is locked?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I triple checked our tech setup for the presentation. I don\u2019t want to take any chances!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Michelle asks Lindsay if she often double or triple check things a lot at work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lindsay shares she is a checker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She always goes through what she has backed before she travels just to make sure that she has everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michelle is similar and doesn&#8217;t mind taking the time to double and triple check everything so she won&#8217;t have any problems before leaving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-roleplay\"><strong>Roleplay<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a quick roleplay from Lindsay and Michelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They will use the vocabulary and tips shared in today\u2019s episode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will help you better understand how to apply this in a conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this scenario, Lindsay and Michelle are coworkers in a meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are about to lead a meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Michelle:<\/strong> Okay, so did you double check the agenda? I triple checked it, actually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Michelle: <\/strong>Awesome, thanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lindsay:<\/strong> It\u2019s going to be tough to tell people they need to double up on their workload until the deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Michelle:<\/strong> I know\u2026but we have to just double down and get it done.
