know who is kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Describe a friend you have known a long time.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Others can be answered by describing personality traits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Part 1:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is one of your best characteristics?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What personality traits do you admire in a person?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:47px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-it-matters-for-your-score\"><strong>Why it matters for your score<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you aren&#8217;t prepared for these questions, you could pause or hesitate in your answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will decrease your Fluency\/Coherence score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to your vocabulary score, you need less common vocabulary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may be able to answer these questions with simple words that all students know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This would earn you a score of 6 or lower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to score 7+, you must use less common, topic-specific vocabulary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:47px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sample-answers\"><strong>Sample answers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the episode, you hear band 9 answers for IELTS questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You also hear feedback about what makes these high-scoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take note of this vocabulary and practice using it in your own answers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add details from your own life experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the best way to speak fluently for higher Fluency\/Coherence Responsibility of schools<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s not obvious that this question could be answers by describing personalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note how Aubrey answers this question with a lot of context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Is it the job of schools to teach children to be good members of society?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>age-old debate<\/strong>: a debate that has continued for some time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>certain responsibilities<\/strong>: undefined responsibility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>honest, upright citizens<\/strong>: high integrity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:47px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-changing-personalities\"><strong>#2: Changing personalities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some questions address personality more directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you think a person can change his\/ her personality?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>addictive personality<\/strong>: a personality that is prone to addiction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>personality traits<\/strong>: characteristics of one&#8217;s personality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>define ourselves by these traits<\/strong>: aspects of personality determining how one views themselves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>root of something<\/strong>: the foundation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:47px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-gender-roles\"><strong>#3: Gender roles<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Aubrey is asked a very difficult question about gender roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, do you think men and women have different personality types?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She talks about nature vs. nurture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>nature vs. nurture<\/strong>: is someone born with traits or are they learned?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This could be used when answering so many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts-speaking-part-2\/\">IELTS Speaking<\/a> questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can also be useful for many Writing Task 2 topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>innate<\/strong>: something you&#8217;re born from<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>stems from<\/strong>: comes from<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Note how Aubrey gave context about why people hold certain opinions about this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was useful filler while she decided how she wanted to answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As she was answering, she realized her opinion has evolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also was considering how honest she would want to be with the Examiner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-does-your-opinion-affect-your-score\"><strong>Does your opinion affect your score?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You are not graded on your opinions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, you are only graded on how well you answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn&#8217;t matter if the Examiner agrees with your opinions or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are not concerned with your opinions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are listening for impressive vocabulary, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts-energy-885-when-grammar-matters-10-the-best-condition-for-speaking-part-2\/\">grammar structures<\/a> and pronunciation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"
