Did you say they haven\u2019t signed the contract yet?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mini roleplay<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Lindsay:<\/strong> So we won\u2019t know about that until Q2 but we can\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Aubrey: <\/strong>Hold up, why won\u2019t we know about that until Q2?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-keep-up\"><strong>#2: Keep up<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an expression used to tell someone to pay attention and follow along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another meaning is to stay up-to-date and on track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We\u2019re going to go through the next agenda items quickly so please try to keep up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I\u2019m having a hard time keeping up with my tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-bring-up\"><strong>#3: Bring up<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This means to raise a matter for discussion or to take something into consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I need to bring up our concerns at the next meeting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sorry to bring this up again, but we still need to resolve the HR issue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-speak-up\"><strong>#4: Speak up<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is used to express one&#8217;s opinions frankly and openly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second meaning of \u2018speak up\u2019 is talk more loudly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I\u2019ve witnessed some disturbing behavior and it\u2019s time I speak up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You need to speak up if you want your boss to know how hard you\u2019ve been working!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Speak up! We can\u2019t hear you very well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-build-up\"><strong>#5: Build up<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is used to establish and develop an organization or situation over a period of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another meaning to the phrase \u2018build up\u2019 is to increase gradually, typically of something negative and leading to a problem or crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use the phrase \u2018build up\u2019 as a noun to mean a gradual accumulation or increase, typically of something negative and typically leading to a problem or crisis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We\u2019ve been building up our staff and are now in a good position to expand.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forms that need to be processed are building up. We may need to hire another person to help with this workload.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have quite a buildup of forms that need to be processed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-roleplay\"><strong>Roleplay<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a quick roleplay using the phrases shared in today\u2019s episode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will help you better understand how to use these in a typical English conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this scenario Aubrey and Lindsay are in a stand up marketing department meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Aubrey: <\/strong>I\u2019ll be tackling logo selection today.
