Compliments at work<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Lindsay asks Aubrey if she is good at accepting compliments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lindsay and Aubrey share three expressions for you to own and accept a compliment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Owning a compliment is different from accepting compliments where you just say \u2018thank you.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The default is saying \u2018thank you\u2019 and these other expressions will help you mix it up and not keep saying the same thing over and over again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This shows that you are owning a compliment in a lighthearted and fun way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In American culture, owning and accepting compliments is acceptable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s best not to reject compliments as it may create awkwardness<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re part of a bigger company, it\u2019s important to accept your achievements and be proud of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accepting compliments and owning achievements will help you get ahead in your career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just be careful not to cross the line into bragging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
