connect with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He initially thought that they were just born that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It may be because they are outgoing and extroverts and really have this super power to connect with others better than most of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When he started to research, he found that wasn\u2019t the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He discovered that anyone can be a supercommunicator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-tips-to-become-a-supercommunicator\"><strong>3 tips to become a supercommunicator<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A series of skills can be learned that you have to practice until they become habits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This unlocks not only a way for us to communicate but also to connect with anyone regardless of how much we have in common with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lindsay fully agrees with this and finds that it is satisfying to us as human beings to connect with each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charles adds that to make a connection, you need to have similar conversations, which is known as the matching principle in psychology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A similar conversation falls into one of three buckets:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Problem solving or making supercommunicator<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Charles shares three ways you can be a supercommunicator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With these tips, you can start making more meaningful and strong connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-ask-questions\"><strong>#1: Ask questions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Charles noticed that supercommunicators always ask questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are authentically curious and you get invested into the conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When they ask questions they intently want to understand the person they are talking to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, a salesperson who is the best communicator, has a dialogue because they show that they are interested in the goals of their clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They value that just as much as their goal of closing that sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This opens a conversation and you get to exchange ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This creates a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/be-prepared-for-impromptu-english\/\">stronger connection<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-prove-that-you-re-listening\"><strong>#2: Prove that you\u2019re listening<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There is always the suspicion that this person is not listening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The technique that Charles is introducing so you can prove you are listening to the person you\u2019re talking to is looping the understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can do this in three steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ask a question to confirm what they are saying.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repeat back in your own words what you understood.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask if you understood it correctly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The other person will feel appreciated and this will make them open to listen to you too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-invest-in-the-connection\"><strong>#3: Invest in the connection<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There was a Harvard study that found a person is healthier when they are 65 or older if they had strong connections starting at age 45.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Creating time to cultivate and nurture connections is really important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main way to do that is to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/culturally-agile-with-professor-paula-caligiuri\/\">meaningful conversations<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can be easy to fall into a rat race where you just get busy and keep working and not make time to create fruitful relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-takeaway\"><strong>Takeaway<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The biggest lesson is that anyone can be a supercommunicator in every language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not
