scores<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Increasing IELTS Reading scores is not just about learning vocabulary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You do need a certain level of vocabulary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, IELTS will never demand specialized vocabulary knowledge to get the answers correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, unfamiliar, rare vocabulary is often used as a distraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You won&#8217;t need to understand these words to get the answer correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" you are learning the vocabulary you&#8217;ll need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-question-2-memorizing-new-vocab\"><strong>Question #2: Memorizing new vocab<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First, limit the number of words you&#8217;re adding to your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts-energy-466-revitalize-ielts-vocab-notebook\/\">vocabulary notebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are trying to learn long lists of vocabulary, you won&#8217;t grasp any of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, add 3-4 words each time you read an article or a few pages of a novel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, use the vocabulary you\u2019re adding ASAP and often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Write out sample answers using the vocabulary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use it in Task 1 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/answer-impossible-task-2-questions\/\">Task 2 essays<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-keep-your-vocabulary-notebook-updated\"><strong>Keep your vocabulary notebook updated<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As you&#8217;re adding this vocabulary to your answers, make note of when you have learned it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remove words once they\u2019re part of your active vocabulary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This way, you always have a manageable list of vocabulary that you are learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It gives you room to continue adding new words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3
