Thanks again!<\/em><\/p>\n<cite><em><strong>From Youtube &#8211; @ludyyyyyy<\/strong><\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-so-many-phrasal-verbs\"><strong>So many phrasal verbs!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All three of these phrasal verbs are used extremely often and are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/tease-someone-in-english-for-connection\/\">great for connection in English<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lindsay and Aubrey will be doing a three-part series to answer this question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, the focus will be on \u2018check out.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-check-this-out\"><strong>Check this out<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Phrasal verbs can be tricky to use because they can mean so many things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Check out\u2019 has multiple meanings, so Lindsay and Aubrey will be sharing each with examples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-find-out-information\"><strong>#1: Find out information<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Check out&#8217; can mean to find out information or make sure that everything is correct or satisfactory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><br><em>I need my mechanic to check out this car before I decide whether to buy it.<br>Wherever we go, my dog always runs around to check the place out.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-look-at-or-notice\"><strong>#2: Look at or notice<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Check out&#8217; can also mean look at or notice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is often used to ask someone to watch something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also used in the dating world, meaning to look at someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><br><em>Check out this video on YouTube!<br>That guy is totally checking you out.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-proving-true-or-correct\"><strong>#3: Proving true or correct<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This phrasal verb can also mean something is being proven true or correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><br><em>Her claim didn\u2019t check out once we looked into it.<br>We\u2019ll see if that checks out.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-settling-a-hotel-bill\">#4: Settling a hotel bill<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll often hear this phrasal verb when someone is settling a hotel bill before leaving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><br><em>We need to check out before 4.<br>I\u2019ll go check us out and meet you at the car.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-pay-or-borrow\"><strong>#5: Pay or borrow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This means to pay for or borrow something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><br><em>I need to check out some books at the library.<br>Cashiers at this store are always so friendly as they check out items.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-roleplay\"><strong>Roleplay<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Our roleplay shows how these meanings are used in conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Check out\u2019 is used throughout the conversation to give an idea on how to use them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this roleplay, Lindsay and Aubrey are talking about a book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Aubrey: <\/strong>Hey, check out this book I found at the library.<br><strong>Lindsay:<\/strong> Looks interesting.<br><strong>Aubrey: <\/strong>I checked it out yesterday and am almost finished.<br><strong>Lindsay:<\/strong> Nice. I actually left a library book in my hotel last weekend!<br><strong>Aubrey: <\/strong>Oh no!<br><strong>Lindsay:<\/strong> Yeah, I went to check out and left it in the lobby.<br><strong>Aubrey:<\/strong> Can they send it to you?<br><strong>Lindsay:<\/strong> Yes, they\u2019re mailing it!
