Necessary IELTS Grammar - IELTS Energy Podcast 1299\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5Jv5-ryxK0w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mistake-to-avoid\"><strong>Mistake to avoid<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While correcting an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/answer-impossible-task-2-questions\/\">IELTS Task 2 essay<\/a> for a student, Aubrey saw this error: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>However, my perspective is that those countries, who obtain more resources, have to bear higher responsibilities.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This mistake of using &#8216;who&#8217; instead of &#8216;which&#8217; is a common error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The correct sentence would read, &#8220;countries which obtain more&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>#1: Who<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Who&#8217; is used when adding a detail about a person or group of people<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On IELTS, use it to describe a person you respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When used to begin a clause it is non-defining and requires the addition of commas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Part 2 question<\/strong>: Describe someone you respect.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>My mother, who has always been there for me, is just the best.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The clause &#8216;who has always been there for me&#8217; is additional and unnecessary for the sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It, therefore, needs to be offset with commas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Include one before and after the clause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it starts a clause that is defining, do not add commas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The person who I respect the most is my mom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In this case, &#8216;who I respect the most&#8217; is necessary for the sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of this, no commas should be included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>What do you do on the weekend?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Most of the time I go out with my friends, who sometimes have to be convinced. is always defining, it never requires a comma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Writing Task 2 topic<\/strong>: What are the causes of disrespectful student behavior in schools?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The chief reason that pupils are exhibiting disappointing attitudes is the lack of time they have with their parents, who should be taking on the responsibility of ethical education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;That&#8217;
