Confusing English Prepositions Explained.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>#1: Think<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Think\u2019 can be used to talk about your opinion or if you are considering something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the umbrella term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the first thing you should understand before the other phrases with the word \u2018think.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>\u201cI think you should give it a chance.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cWhat do you think?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cI don\u2019t think so.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cI think it must be tough to live in a small town.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u2018Think of\u2019 or \u2018think about\u2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now let\u2019s differentiate \u2018think of\u2019 and \u2018think about.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To \u2018think about\u2019 is used to say you are deciding about something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can mean you are remunerating about something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>remunerate<\/strong>: to keep going back and forth in your mind to decide on something<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>\u201cWhat are you thinking about?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cI\u2019m thinking about moving abroad.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cI\u2019m thinking about all the work I\u2019m doing later and I\u2019m stressing out\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cWhat do you think about going with me to the show later?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>#2: Think about<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Using \u2018think about\u2019 is processing and considering something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a much more active way of thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, \u2018think of\u2019 has a more nostalgic longing when you\u2019re thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can also be a way to ask for someone\u2019s opinion on something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some examples using \u2018think of\u2019:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>\u201cWhat do you think of this dress?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cI\u2019m thinking of moving abroad.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cI think of the possibilities.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>At times \u2018think of\u2019 and \u2018think about\u2019 can be interchangeable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, you have to make sure the meaning and the feeling being conveyed doesn\u2019t change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In most cases \u2018think of\u2019 would have a broader aspect of thinking and a hint of longing and nostalgia when used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has a bit of a dreamy feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Roleplay<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a quick roleplay from Lindsay and Michelle to better understand how \u2018think of\u2019 and \u2018think about\u2019 can be used in a conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this scenario, Lindsay and Michelle are friends and they are deciding on what they are going to do today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Lindsay: <\/strong>There is a new museum exhibit downtown. Wanna join?<br><strong>Lindsay: <\/strong>Nah! I\u2019m tired. But, think of me when you run by that bakery.
