do that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grammatically, it is incorrect but often the speaker does this to shorten the sentence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This saves time and is acceptable in their regional dialect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The correct way to say this is <strong><em>\u2018We might be able to do that\u2019<\/em><\/strong> or <strong><em>\u2018Maybe we can do that.\u2019 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#2: <strong>\u2018You might could do that&#8217;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This can be part of someone\u2019s regional dialect, but it is still grammatically incorrect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not recommended to use in formal settings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The correct way to say this is <strong><em>\u2018You might be able to do that.\u2019 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>#3: \u2018Used to could\u2019 <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Incorrect<\/strong>: You used to could turn right there, but now you can&#8217;t.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that you used to do something. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can also be heard in rural areas of America. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is another example of shortening sentences and getting the idea across faster. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The correct way to say this is <em><strong>\u2018used to be able.\u2019<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Correct<\/strong>: You used to be able to turn right there, but now you can&#8217;t.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Roleplay <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Aubrey and Lindsay share two roleplays that can help you better understand today\u2019s topic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first includes these common errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second roleplay shares the conversation with corrected grammar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this first roleplay, Aubrey and Lindsay are talking about their hometown and using colloquial incorrect grammar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>Aubrey: <\/strong>You <strong><em>used to could<\/em><\/strong> play in a park over there but it\u2019s been replaced with apartments. <\/p><p><strong>Lindsay:<\/strong> That\u2019s such a bummer!
