She\u2019s late. <\/li><li>We\u2019re waiting for appetizers. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You have some flexibility with these so you can make your conversation more interesting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>#3: \u2018Wait on\u2019 means to delay or postpone something <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To use \u2018wait on\u2019 in this definition is common in Business English. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also used in American English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use it when having conversations regarding work timelines with your colleagues or officemates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some examples: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We\u2019re going to wait on this project until we\u2019re ready. <\/li><li>Let\u2019s wait on that.
