autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Body Parts and Expressions <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some expressions using body parts that convey moving from one point to another. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lindsay and Michelle also give an example per expression for you to better understand how to use them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Eye to eye <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The expression \u201ceye to eye\u201d means either you agree or disagree with someone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be instances when you will have the same point of view as the person you\u2019re talking to or not. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use this to describe whether or not you have the same opinion on a certain topic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We don&#8217;t see eye to eye on this topic.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Cheek to cheek <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The expression \u201ccheek to cheek\u201d can be taken literally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It means that one\u2019s cheek is against another person\u2019s cheek. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is usually seen between partners dancing intimately or close friends taking a photo together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a gesture of affection or a show of comfort in each other\u2019s company. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Everybody get cheek to cheek for this shot!&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Face-to-face <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The expression \u201cface-to-face\u201d means to be with someone in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> This is physically being in front of a person. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This can also mean being in direct contact with another person which can be confrontational. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this example, Michelle shares her experience through the pandemic as a teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> It has been a 360 shift to adapting to conducting classes online instead of the face-to-face traditional classroom setting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was been challenging at the start but when everyone adjusted to the situation, it became easier and even morphed into a hybrid type of setup where they do classes online and in the classroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Zoom is okay but I prefer seeing my coworkers face to face.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Back to back <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The expression \u201cback-to-back\u201d means that something is in succession or something that is one after the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can also be taken literally where you are back-to-back with someone but because of physical distancing, you don\u2019t see much of this anymore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lindsay shares her experience wherein she has been very busy lately and meetings have been back-to-back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ll call you later. I have back-to-back meetings right now.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Head to head <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The expression \u201chead to head\u201d means to be against each other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This can also be used to describe two parties competing against each other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lindsay shared that last week was a big football weekend and she has heard this being used recently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michelle added that this expression can also be used with other situations other than sports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An example she mentioned is when two people are being confrontational or are arguing about something. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The teams went head to head.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Heart to heart <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The expression \u201cheart to heart\u201d means to have a nice and sincere talk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a good way to air out your feelings to someone to get a better understanding of each other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michelle mentions that it is always nice to have a heart-to-heart talk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;After the argument, they had a heart-to-heart. Everything is better now. &#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Roleplay <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Lindsay and Michelle do a quick roleplay using the expressions shared in today\u2019s episode. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is to help you better understand how to properly use them in a conversation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this scenario, Lindsay and Michelle are coworkers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>Lindsay: <\/strong>I&#8217;m sorry Tracy didn&#8217;t see eye to eye with us on the new plan. <\/p><p><strong>Michelle:<\/strong> Yeah it&#8217;s too bad. Maybe she was stressed because of her back-to-back conference calls. <\/p><p><strong>Lindsay: <\/strong>True. I know she prefers to work face to face. <\/p><p><strong>Michelle:<\/strong> It seemed like she went head to head with our client on that call. <\/p><p><strong>Lindsay:<\/strong> Yeah I was surprised. It&#8217;s ok I think they had a heart-to-heart and cleared it all up. <\/p><p><strong>Michelle: <\/strong>Yeah.
