href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts-energy-952-todays-ielts-vocabulary-is-flabbergasting\/\">One vocabulary word she recommends is \u201cflabbergasted.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Replace the low level word \u201csurprised\u201d with this adjective.<\/p>\n<p>However, you must be careful not to include overcomplicated paraphrases that cause the meaning to become unclear.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t memorize lists of fancy words.<\/p>\n<p>It is vital that you learn them in context.<\/p>\n<p>You won\u2019t know how to use these words and you\u2019ll use them incorrectly.<\/p>\n<p>This is disastrous for your scores.<\/p>\n<p>You do need great vocabulary, but you have to understand it and know how to use it correctly.<\/p>\n<p>You must be able to use it in a sentence that makes sense and supports your ideas.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Neeharika\u2019s speaking exam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>She suggests you enjoy the exam!<\/p>\n<p>Be happy and enjoy speaking to the examiner.<\/p>\n<p>If you are enjoying it, you will speak more naturally.<\/p>\n<p>To prepare to be able to enjoy it, practice with a friend.<\/p>\n<p>Be silly, make jokes, laugh and be yourself!<\/p>\n<p>If you think of it as a job interview, you will be too rehearsed, formal and stilted.<\/p>\n<p>Answer honestly!<\/p>\n<p>Laugh and narrate your thoughts if you make a mistake.<\/p>\n<p>Speak as though you are talking to a friend.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" Energy YouTube videos<\/a> very useful.<\/p>\n<p>She watched all of our videos on Speaking, which was several hours!<\/p>\n<p>Her recommendation is that you use these to improve your skills.<\/p>\n<p>These are especially useful for improving for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts-energy-1092-ielts-speaking-vocabulary-weird-article-slang\/\">IELTS Speaking<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>They are only 3-4 minutes long.<\/p>\n<p>You will find videos with vocabulary and sample answers.<\/p>\n<p>Use these for mimicking and shadowing.<\/p>\n<p>This will help you improve both vocabulary and intonation.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>What advice does she share for IELTS Listening?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>She listened to Listening audio at the speed of 1.25.<\/p>\n<p>This way, when the audio on test day was slower, it felt easier.<\/p>\n<p>This made it easier to not miss questions.<\/p>\n<p>She also practiced not trying to understand every word. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts-examiner-14-years\/\">As an Examiner<\/a>, Jessica saw many students make this mistake!<\/p>\n<p>She also felt that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts-energy-880-3-keys-strategies-to-solve-the-trickiest-ielts-questions\/\">3 Keys strategies<\/a> for the Listening exam helped massively.<\/p>\n<p>Recognizing key words to listen for made all the difference.<\/p>\n<p>She started recognizing tricks and traps and stopped falling for answers.<\/p>\n<p>She recognized that she didn\u2019t have time to read it all.<\/p>\n<p>Also, she saw that thinking about it too much led to choosing the wrong answer.<\/p>\n<p>She simplified the process and used strategies that were clear so she knew what to do.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, if you can\u2019t find an answer, don\u2019t spend more than a minute.<\/p>\n<p>Mark it to come back later and
