<\/p>\n<p>This is at the heart of what you are going to talk about, and therefore you want to be certain that you represent yourself well.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re going to teach you how to use the present perfect to impress at any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/aee-521-keirans-expert-interviewing-advice-3-tips\/\">job interview.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all about learning how to impress and speak well about yourself so that you stand out.<\/p>\n<p>When you want to stand out from the crowd and ultimately land the job, then learning what to say and how to say it becomes so important.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3 id=\"h-understanding-how-this-works\"><strong>Understanding How This Works<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Let\u2019s start by understanding how this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/aee-1371-grammar-english-rules-present-perfect-tense\/\">English grammar tense<\/a> works, and then you can consider how to use it in your own interviews.<\/p>\n<p>We will begin by seeing a breakdown of what present perfect is, and then we can build off of that.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Present perfect<\/em><\/strong>: Past experiences and achievements with no specific time mentioned. <\/p>\n<p>The focus is on the action or experience, and we don\u2019t care or know when it happened.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Form<\/em><\/strong>: <strong><em>has\/have + past participle<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can use this in a number of different ways, so let\u2019s look at some examples.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cI have traveled to many different countries.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cShe has studied multiple languages. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cI\u2019ve traveled to many countries.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cShe\u2019s studied multiple languages.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Talking About Achievements<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You use it to talk about past<a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/business-english-confidence\/\"> achievements and experience,<\/a> particularly during a job interview. <\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">It is unimportant when these things happened in the past, as that is not the focus at all. <\/span> <\/p>\n<p>This is something great to practice which will help you to speak well and represent your past accomplishments in this setting.<\/p>\n<p>You may wish to try practicing at home before the interview, and then it will come across more naturally.<\/p>\n<p>These are the types of things that you can control before an interview, which will ultimately help you to be successful and move onto next steps in the interview process.<\/p>\n<p> You will also need to use this structure to talk to your teammates once you get the job when you volunteer for projects. <\/p>\n<div style=\"height:19px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3 id=\"h-a-roleplay-to-learn-present-perfect-tense\"><strong>A Roleplay To Learn Present Perfect Tense<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In this roleplay, Aubrey interviews Lindsay for a position as a zookeeper.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aubrey<\/strong>: \u201cThank you for coming in today to chat with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lindsay<\/strong>: \u201cThanks for having me. <strong>I\u2019ve read<\/strong> great things about this company, and I\u2019m excited for the opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aubrey<\/strong>: \u201cSo, first tell me about your past experience.
