{"id":52622,"date":"2016-02-02T23:02:36","date_gmt":"2016-02-02T23:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1\/aee\/ielts-speaking-score-killers\/"},"modified":"2022-05-09T15:48:34","modified_gmt":"2022-05-09T15:48:34","slug":"ielts-speaking-score-killers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts-speaking-score-killers\/","title":{"rendered":"3 Bad Behaviors that Kill Your Speaking Score"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Are you making these mistakes, and setting yourself up to score below a 6 on test day?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve even seen native English speakers who did not score highly because they simply were not properly prepared for the IELTS Speaking exam!<\/p>\n<p>If you follow my advice, you can guarantee&nbsp;reaching&nbsp;the highest score possible on the IELTS Speaking exam.<\/p>\n<h2>Don\u2019t bore the examiner with your vocabulary!<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>In order to score a 7 or higher for vocabulary, you MUST use idiomatic, interesting language. However, you must use these interesting words and phrases correctly!<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t trust the idioms from your textbooks. Many of these idioms are out of date, and native speakers simply do not use them anymore. In fact, <a href=\"\/ielts\/ielts-vocabulary-score-junk\/\">using these idioms will lower your vocabulary score<\/a>!<\/li>\n<li>Try and learn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/?s=118\">idioms and vocabulary that native speakers currently use<\/a>. You can do this by watching TV shows and movies, and writing down one interesting phrase you hear per episode or movie.
