Don\u2019t you know the alphabet in English?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then I remembered that after studying Spanish for many years, I actually don&#8217;t&nbsp;know the alphabet in that language either! Some <strong>simple skills get lost<\/strong> as you advance in a language. I think I must have skipped those lessons in the beginner classes.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, an additional difficulty is that native speakers of different accents <strong>pronounce letters differently<\/strong>. There&#8217;s no magic key for <a href=\"\/ielts\/ielts-english-accents\/\">getting used to accents<\/a>. You simply have to practice listening to a <a href=\"\/ielts\/ielts-listening-understanding-difficult-accents\/\">wide variety of people speaking English<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE ANSWERS ARE BELOW.
