Here is one of them:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><em>The population of Nepal hit 27 million, which was the apex of the period given.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This is an excellent example of a relative clause. This is the best way to <a href=\"\/ielts\/ielts-energy-306-four-things-dont-know-writing-task-1\/\">add description about a noun in a sentence <\/a>(the <strong>subject<\/strong> or the <strong>object<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Many students worry about whether or not to add a comma for these clauses.<\/p>\n<p>This will not make a huge difference to your grammar score. So, <strong>when in doubt, put a comma<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>Remember that the relative clause needs to go <strong>as close as possible to the noun<\/strong> it is describing.<\/p>\n<p>The word&nbsp;<em>apex<\/em> is an <a href=\"\/ielts\/ielts-347-3-verbs-7-ielts-writing-task-1\/\">impressive vocabulary word<\/a> that means&nbsp;<em>peak.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>IELTS Writing Task 2 and Speaking Part 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><em>Social media platforms, where people while away superfluous hours, are doing very little to further our minds.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When you use a relative clause with&nbsp;<strong><em>where<\/em><\/strong>, remember you have to <strong>follow it with another subject<\/strong>, or a noun. In this case, the subject for&nbsp;<em>where<\/em> is&nbsp;<em>people.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Superfluous&nbsp;<\/em>is an <strong>awesome word<\/strong> for&nbsp;<em>a lot<\/em> or&nbsp;<em>too much\/many<\/em>. These <a href=\"\/ielts\/dont-use-words-ielts-writing-task-2\/\">words are easy an should not be used on the exam<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p><strong>IELTS Speaking Part 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are many <a href=\"\/ielts\/ielts-speaking-part-2-strategies\/\">Part 2 questions that ask you to describe people<\/a>. These are, of course, answers that easily lend themselves to relative clauses with&nbsp;<em>who.<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><em>My Human Anatomy teacher, who was also the wrestling coach, oddly enough, really created a dynamic learning environment.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Adding the phrase&nbsp;<em>oddly enough<\/em> to sentences in the Speaking Exam is an <strong>excellent native-speaker feature<\/strong>.
