However, this is almost never the case!<\/p>\n<p>Instead, the summary is <strong>usually<\/strong> of a portion of the passage, <strong>2-3 paragraphs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>So that is your <strong>first task<\/strong>, is to look at the summary and figure out <strong>which section<\/strong> of the passage it is drawing from.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Tip #2- Answers are mostly in order<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/ielts\/ielts-reading-keywords\/\">Focus on the key words<\/a> <strong>before<\/strong> and <strong>after<\/strong> the answer. However, you must be <strong>flexible<\/strong> and realize that sometimes an answer is not in order.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t let this cause panic, though. The answer will usually be <strong>found in the 2-3 lines<\/strong> previous to the answer you just found.<\/p>\n<p>In sum, if you can\u2019t find the answers in order, know that they are <strong>very near each other<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Tip #3- Predict word form<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>When you look at the missing word in the summary,<a href=\"\/ielts\/video-ielts-listening-learn-prediction-increase-scores\/\"> predict the word form<\/a> you need, like an <strong>adjective<\/strong> or a <strong>noun<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Then, when you find the key words in the passage, simply <strong>look for the correct word form nearest<\/strong> to the key word.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Tip #4- Look at it like sentence completion<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>When you see a summary, <strong>don\u2019t panic<\/strong>. Try to remember that, basically, it is the <a href=\"\/ielts\/ielts-listening-lesson-short-answer-sentence-completion\/\">same as sentence completion<\/a>.
