Advanced English Phrasal Verb Lesson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever heard native English speakers using phrases like &#8220;check in&#8221; or &#8220;check up on&#8221;?<\/p>\n<p>Here are some other examples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I&#8217;m just going to head to the doctor for a check up.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> I don&#8217;t want to stay too out of touch, so I&#8217;ll check in with the babysitter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m not sure of the answer, so let me check with him on that for clarification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What could this possibly mean? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why would you want to check in with somebody?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Does this mean that there&#8217;s some sort of lack of trust?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Does it indicate something bad?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let&#8217;s take a look at an example through a letter that we got recently, which may help us to begin understanding this aspect of English.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In today&#8217;s episode you&#8217;ll learn how to use phrasal verbs such as &#8220;check in&#8221; or &#8220;check up on&#8221; like a native speaker would use them.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a question from a listener:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>Hi Lindsay and Michelle,<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I can&#8217;t thank you enough for your amazing work!
