Do you hear the word \u201cawesome\u201d used all the time in English?<\/p>\n

Does this feel like a word that should only be used at certain times?<\/p>\n

Here is an example: \u201cWow I would love to do that with you, it sounds awesome!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The truth is that a word like \u201cawesome\u201d is perfectly fine between friends.<\/p>\n

It means that everything is great or that this is cool.<\/p>\n

Is it always okay to use the word awesome though?<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll answer that question in today\u2019s episode!<\/p>\n

I have been listen to your awesome podcast as crazy as a dog, but I am in doubt How to safely use the word awesome. <\/strong><\/em>A few days ago I was in a meeting with american lawyers and the foreigner lawyer had an amazing Idea. I replied to him: GREAT. But in my mind the word awesome came first, and to be true, at that time, I felt awkward in saying awesome in a quite formal meeting.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

So girls, please help me. How does It sound the word awesome in that context? Can I use It freely? <\/strong><\/em>In my mind that word sounds OK for teenagers ir in a very informal enviroments. <\/strong><\/em>What do you think? Am I wrong?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s so important for us to know not only the vocabulary word<\/a> but the appropriateness of a word depending on the situation and who you are speaking to.<\/p>\n

Is it okay to use \u201cawesome\u201d in this context?<\/p>\n

The reality is that many people would have a different opinion about your question.<\/p>\n

The general consensus is that  \u201cawesome\u201d in the example may be a bit informal for this situation because it is business.<\/p>\n

You have to evaluate though how well you know these people.<\/p>\n

If you have a friendly relationship<\/a> with them, awesome MAY be ok to use, but you mentioned it was \u201ca quite formal meeting\u201d<\/p>\n

It may be better in a more formal setting<\/a> to say something like \u201cgreat.\u201d<\/p>\n

It depends on the relationship:<\/strong><\/p>\n

It ultimately may depend upon the relationship that you have with the person.<\/p>\n

That can dictate if awesome is appropriate or not.<\/p>\n

It is a bit more informal and young sounding, however, many people use it \u201cfreely\u201d (as per the example)<\/p>\n

Even if you look at our language on this podcast, it\u2019s a pretty common word.<\/p>\n

However, our show is friendly and has a bit of a more informal feeling.<\/p>\n
