class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>What is a misconception about Speaking Part 2?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Many people believe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts\/ielts-scores-speaking-part-2-bullet-points\/\">you have to answer the bullet points provided with the topic.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t true!<\/p>\n<p>These bullet points are meant to provide ideas if you are struggling with planning.<\/p>\n<p>Examiners don\u2019t usually look at the bullet points.<\/p>\n<p>They only care that the topic is vaguely touched on.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:48px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Fluency\/coherence<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For a 7 or higher in fluency and coherence, you don\u2019t have to be perfect!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/aee-1089-focus-on-fluency-with-two-easy-steps\/\">Fluency means to keep communicating in a natural way.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t have to be extremely organized, and it doesn\u2019t need a conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>Use transition phrases!<\/p>\n<p>Show that you know a variety of grammar structures.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I wish I\u2019d never done it.<\/li>\n<li>I hadn\u2019t thought of it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You must speak for 2 minutes!<\/p>\n<p>If the Examiner has to stop you, that shows you are fluent and had more to say.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:48px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Go on a tangent!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts\/how-to-tell-a-story-in-ielts-speaking-part-2\/\">Tell a story <\/a>and don\u2019t hesitate to ramble, or go on tangents.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a side note, I think\u2026<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019m going to go on a tangent here.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can talk about anything related to the topic.<\/p>\n<p>A recent Speaking Part 2 question was:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>Describe a time you wore something smart.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It might be hard to describe the clothing for a full 2 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>However, you can talk about anything related.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the occasion you wore it<\/li>\n<li>where you purchased it<\/li>\n<li>how much it cost<\/li>\n<li>why you attended<\/li>\n<li>who you went with<\/li>\n<li>what you did to get ready<\/li>\n<li>what time you left<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"height:52px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h2><strong>Strategies Created by a Former IELTS
