Therefore, many people use public transportation. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Punctuation<\/strong>: Must have a comma after therefore <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>#3 \u2013 As an interrupting phrase <\/strong><\/h3>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>Example<\/strong>: Nations, therefore, have a responsibility to provide for their citizens. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>Example<\/strong>: The business that turned away clients was, therefore, within its rights. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Punctuation<\/strong>: must be surrounded by commas <\/p>\n<div style=\"height:43px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Avoid this common mistake when using therefore!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u2013 <strong>Important note<\/strong>: Therefore is often the culprit of run-on sentences like this one: <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>The European Central Bank will not risk its own existence, therefore it does everything it can to uphold the Euro. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>There are two ways to fix this error.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make it a new sentence with therefore as an introductory phrase. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>The European Central Bank will not risk its own existence.
