I just recently found your episodes and I\u2019m so happy that I did. I would like to improve my English language as much as I can. I will be sure to keep listening to your episodes and stay in contact as much as possible. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Actually I have a question about something that I read in the news. I was reading and saw \u201cSen\u201d before some of the names. I don\u2019t really understand this, so would you tell me what the exact meaning of it is? I\u2019m just looking for more context or an explanation of it. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what I read \u201cMore than four hours after the caucuses started with Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg and former Vice President Joe Biden vying for first place, the first results of 1,600 precincts have yet to emerge.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Understanding A Bit of Background<\/strong><\/h3>\n

So what does Sen stand for?<\/p>\n

It stands for Senator and this is a very important government position, especially right now.<\/p>\n

There is also some other important information that can help you here. <\/p>\n

There is Congress\u2013this is the group of legislators in the U.S.<\/p>\n

There is the legislative branch of government, along with the executive and judicial branches. <\/p>\n

There are Members of Congress, and there is a breakdown of the various elected officials.<\/p>\n

Inside this umbrella are Senators, as well as Congresswomen and Congressmen.<\/p>\n
