why!<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll learn how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts\/ielts-energy-743-vocabulary-ielts-burnout\/\">motivating material<\/a> helped increase Takumi\u2019s overall IELTS score.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts\/ielts-energy-214-alines-story-will-inspire-jump-2-writing-band-points\/\">It went up by 2 whole band points!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He did Takumi prepare initially?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>He took the IELTS exam twice.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, he prepared <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts\/ielts-energy-171-not-waste-year-studying-ielts\/\">by studying vocabulary lists.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In Japan, he had access to a book of IELTS vocabulary.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts\/ielts-energy-499-lists-gave-false-confidence\/\">He memorized over 2,000 words from this book.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He also spent a lot of time studying grammar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allearsenglish.com\/ielts\/ielts-energy-427-word-lists-never-work\/\">Unfortunately, he discovered this was not an affective way to study!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>His scores were much lower than he needed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Listening: 5<\/li>\n<li>Reading: 5<\/li>\n<li>Writing: 4.5<\/li>\n<li>Speaking: 4.5<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div
